In Memory of Guestbook

Guestbook

Working for more than 14 years, from a 2-foot model to the 48-foot catamaran, Russ’ dream came true when The Rhumbline navigated the Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio Rivers and the Canal to the Gulf of Mexico in September 2010.  While ‘Noah’ wasn’t there to see her launched, friends and family carried out his wish with fond memories.

Sailing:   Christopher Cross

This website hosts the Guestbook for people who receive a medallion of ‘Rhumbline Around The World’, and tells the story of Russ’ journey from Dreams to Destinations, plus about him growing up in Iowa, his interests and his family.

Russ wasnโ€™t able to sail The Rhumbline on the rivers, lakes, inlets, seas, and oceans of the world.  So we created a way that Noah can continue his journey.  If you received or found the medallion, please sign in below with the number of your medallion.    Then Pass It On!!!

We’ve heard that many of you would like to track your medallion, so we set up a simple tracking system which will allow you to watch the progress of your coin!

>> Received the coin 927 from Carolyn's colleagues in Nestlรƒยฉ Switzerland. I share the same dream as Russ: Sailing the Oceans. Right now, I'm just enjoying sailing on Lake Geneva and also in the Mediterranean a few weeks every year. Will pass this coin to another Swiss Sailor who share the same dream!

>> Medallion #931 flew with me to Busan, South Korea and eventually made its way overland by KTX to the Korean Ocean Research Institute in Ansan where I handed it to my friend Cho. It should make it across the China Seas!

>> We are honoured to have received the medallion #943 from Carolyn by mail Nov. 15th 2011 - "as we have sailed and maybe still will", she wrote. We live in Ohren, a little village in Germany close to Frankfurt. The medallion we'll pass on to an other sailor. He is a close friend and the three of us used to fly in a Cessna in Africa, Australia as well as over the keys, starting from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He had to give up flying and has his own boat now.

>> November 23, 2011...it's my birthday. I found coin #483 after walking on the beach in North Miami, FL with my friend, Arthur. We sat down on a park bench and there it was. We are visiting his family over the Thanksgiving holiday staying with his sister, Jeannette. I'll look forward to passing the coin on when I return home to Winter Park, FL in a few days. Probably will drop it somewhere at nearby Lake Eola Park downtown Orlando.
