Working for more than 14 years, from a 2-foot model to the 48-foot catamaran, Russ’ dream came true when The Rhumbline navigated the Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio Rivers and the Canal to the Gulf of Mexico in September 2010. While ‘Noah’ wasn’t there to see her launched, friends and family carried out his wish with fond memories.

This website hosts the Guestbook for people who receive a medallion of ‘Rhumbline Around The World’, and tells the story of Russ’ journey from Dreams to Destinations, plus about him growing up in Iowa, his interests and his family.

>> To backtrack, Carolyn Campion gave me #203 at home in Colorado, and I gave it to lovely Franca, my B&B hostess at Castello di Montegualandro on the Tuscan-Umbrian border of Italy. She said they always wanted to sail in their retirement but fell in love with the castle many years ago instead. Clearly, Russ needed to stop at that beautiful place before returning to the sea.

A coworker found #574 in San Francisco, and while I love the mystery of finding a coin in a random place, when he gave it to me, I left it with a friend in La Paz, MX at the end of a dive trip. As a sailor, I hope it spends a lot of time on boats traveling to places Russ would have enjoyed. What a great tribute; glad to be a part of it.
