In Memory of Guestbook

Guestbook

Working for more than 14 years, from a 2-foot model to the 48-foot catamaran, Russ’ dream came true when The Rhumbline navigated the Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio Rivers and the Canal to the Gulf of Mexico in September 2010.  While ‘Noah’ wasn’t there to see her launched, friends and family carried out his wish with fond memories.

Sailing:   Christopher Cross

This website hosts the Guestbook for people who receive a medallion of ‘Rhumbline Around The World’, and tells the story of Russ’ journey from Dreams to Destinations, plus about him growing up in Iowa, his interests and his family.

Russ wasnโ€™t able to sail The Rhumbline on the rivers, lakes, inlets, seas, and oceans of the world.  So we created a way that Noah can continue his journey.  If you received or found the medallion, please sign in below with the number of your medallion.    Then Pass It On!!!

We’ve heard that many of you would like to track your medallion, so we set up a simple tracking system which will allow you to watch the progress of your coin!

>> Coin #100 was given to me at Russ's service last year.I thought about leaving up where we used to go hunting above Glenwood Springs, but Kauai is where he wanted to go after his chemo so I took it there. I left it on a catamaran parked way up on the beach with a bunch of other ones on Hanalei Bay 11/17/2011. My favorite beach after being there for over a week, took it around with me all over the place trying to decide, when I saw there little yacht club...Mahalo Russ

>> Coin #574 was left with us by a freind visiting on our boat down in La Paz Mx .. We had a great adventure diving the Sea of Cortez. Right now it has a nice place on the boat here in La Paz.. I plan to take it with me on my next adventure to Revillagigedos Islands and then pass it on from there.. Or who knows where in this sailing town of La Paz it could end up. Great story to be a part of.

>> # 934 / #936 were left on the Algarve coast in the south of Portugal in mid-October. #934 was given at Telheiro do Infante, overlooking the Mediterranean at Sagres, the most SW point of Europe. #936 was given to Liz, a golf pro on the European Womens' Tour to be taken back to her base in Dubai, now a 'trade crossroads' of the world.

>> We received medallion # 219 in Switzerland, and on September 22 we left it at La Rochelle, on the Atlantic Coast of France, next to the historic "digue Cardinal Richelieu" built to close the entry of relief boats from England to the port when laying siege on La Rochelle to conquer the town for the King of France.
