In Memory of Guestbook

Guestbook

Working for more than 14 years, from a 2-foot model to the 48-foot catamaran, Russ’ dream came true when The Rhumbline navigated the Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio Rivers and the Canal to the Gulf of Mexico in September 2010.  While ‘Noah’ wasn’t there to see her launched, friends and family carried out his wish with fond memories.

Sailing:   Christopher Cross

This website hosts the Guestbook for people who receive a medallion of ‘Rhumbline Around The World’, and tells the story of Russ’ journey from Dreams to Destinations, plus about him growing up in Iowa, his interests and his family.

Russ wasnโ€™t able to sail The Rhumbline on the rivers, lakes, inlets, seas, and oceans of the world.  So we created a way that Noah can continue his journey.  If you received or found the medallion, please sign in below with the number of your medallion.    Then Pass It On!!!

We’ve heard that many of you would like to track your medallion, so we set up a simple tracking system which will allow you to watch the progress of your coin!

>> Found medallion #992 on May 30th this year, 3 p.m., at the feet of a sculpture in the center of Schillingsfรผrst, Western Franconia, which is located in the Northern part of Bavaria (Germany). Took some pictures of the site, but unfortunately it's not possible to post them here, and the fb-page seems to be gone. Plannin' to take/to travel the medallion to either Dresden or Bayreuth.

>> I found medallion 942 in a small hospital lodging in Dillingham Alaska while working there two summers ago, I finally remembered to take it with me to Germany while on a cycling adventure through Bavaria, where I left it at the foot of a statue in Schillingsfรผrst, where it will continue it's journey.

>> We originally found medallion #658 at Red Rock Crossing in Sedona on March 10, 2013 and posted our find on this site on April 6, 2013. I planned to pass on the medallion somewhere in our home province of New Brunswick, Canada but wanted to take Russ' memory on a longer journey. So we recently took the medallion on a return journey to Hawaii to tour the Big Island, Maui and Oahu. We finally decided to leave the medallion by the water fall in the lobby entrance to the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, Oahu on March 26, 2015. Hopefully somebody finds it and helps Russ continue the journey around the Pacific.

>> I received medallion # 953 from Carolyn, sister of Russ, whom I have known for many years. I will take this token of Russ dream from the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland to the island of Ibiza from where the medallion will hopefully sail on through wide, open waters to new and adventures destinations around the world.

>> We received medallion no. 989 at Steve's wedding to Susan in Los Angeles, from Caroline. It came with us around the Greek islands in June, and we are taking it to Cambodia later this summer. We plan to pass it on to our friends there, with the hope it continues the journey started by many in memory of one!
