In Memory of Guestbook

Guestbook

Working for more than 14 years, from a 2-foot model to the 48-foot catamaran, Russ’ dream came true when The Rhumbline navigated the Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio Rivers and the Canal to the Gulf of Mexico in September 2010.  While ‘Noah’ wasn’t there to see her launched, friends and family carried out his wish with fond memories.

This website hosts the Guestbook for people who receive a medallion of ‘Rhumbline Around The World’, and tells the story of Russ’ journey from Dreams to Destinations, plus about him growing up in Iowa, his interests and his family.

Russ wasnโ€™t able to sail The Rhumbline on the rivers, lakes, inlets, seas, and oceans of the world.  So we created a way that Noah can continue his journey.  If you received or found the medallion, please sign in below with the number of your medallion.    Then Pass It On!!!

We’ve heard that many of you would like to track your medallion, so we set up a simple tracking system which will allow you to watch the progress of your coin!

My 4 year old and 2 year old kids found medallion# 1394 in Bellingham, Washington. It was on a Mark Twain statue outside of Village Books in Fairhaven. We will bring the coin with us on our adventure to Honolulu Hawaii and then leave it in Grand Cayman for someone else to find.
God bless,
The Lott Family

Our good neighbour in Westbrook, Jan Frame, sister to Russ, honoured us by giving us medallion # 1363. What a beautiful way to keep the memory alive of someone held precious. The medallion will travel with us from Peoria AZ to White Rock BC at the end of April, 2023.

I received medallion #878 from my sister Stefania in Atina, Italy. Currently, the medallion is in Cali, Colombia. Now is the time to pass it on so Russ's journey never ends! It is an honour to be part of this project! Thank you!

As noted in my earlier entry, #1196 did not go to the Dominican Republic. The rest of the info looks correct.

I have a correction for one of the medallions, #1196. I received it from my wife's uncle in Rocklin, California, as shown on the tracker. The website shows it went to Dominican Republic, but that is incorrect. I placed it in 2020 atop a very large boulder at the base of Mt. Conness in the Hoover Wilderness, California. That is the location where my brother's ashes were spread, so it is a special place for me. The tracker shows that someone found it there in May 2022 (which is great!) but the tracker lists the location as "Hover" but it should be "Hoover."

I received the medallion from Carol Bachman in AZ in 2021. I will be travelling to Antarctica this month and passing the medallion on there.
